2001: Company founded as a web copywriting agency
It was 2001 and the new century had new rules. We helped businesses get their message across in a fast-paced, relevant, human way. That approach hasn’t changed.
2004: Marketing Magazine cover story and conference speaking about blogging
The blogging phenomenon started to catch the eye of marketers, and Simon Young became the “go-to” writer and speaker on the topic.
2007: Social Media consulting arm launched
Journalism and conference speaking led to consulting engagements with companies that needed to “make sense of social media”.
2009-2010: First overseas engagements in Australia and China
An invitation to deliver a 2-day social media strategy workshop in Shanghai, China, led to a focus on the exciting space of Chinese Social Media.
2011: Rebranded to syENGAGE
A new name reflected the coming together of the training, consulting and content arms of the business.
Now: Building a bridge between the West and China
With presence in Auckland and Shanghai, we are building a bridge of understanding, and helping Western brands understand and engage with their Chinese audience.
